Base price: USD 29.99. Verified Source: developer announcement "Price & Bundles", 24 Sep 2026. The Nintendo store page lists the same USD 29.99 (checked 5 Oct 2026). Steam had no preorder price visible as of 5 Oct 2026; the PlayStation page showed no price.

Demo and save carryover verified 5 Oct 2026
A free public demo ran on Steam during Next Fest, 15 to 22 June 2026, then was extended to Friday 26 June 2026, 10:00 PT. Sources: developer posts "Play The Demo Now!" (15 Jun 2026) and "Surprise! The Demo is Available Longer!" (22 Jun 2026).
Save carryover: progress made in the demo carries over to the launch version on Steam. Stated in both June 2026 posts (for example: "the progress you make in this demo will carry over to the launch version of Order of the Sinking Star on Steam"). This is a pre-launch promise; it has not been re-tested on this site because the game is not out yet. Promised, not re-tested
The demo had about 110 levels, the overworld, and three of the game's worlds; a June 19 content update added more, including colliding-worlds content.
A later demo was shown at Tokyo Game Show (announced 10 Sep 2026, PLAYISM partnership for Japan). That was a booth demo, not a download.
Demo availability now: not downloadable. On 5 Oct 2026 the demo's Steam app (4597250) redirected to the Steam home page, and the main store page had no demo button. The developers said on 22 Jun 2026 they would announce any return of the demo; no such announcement had appeared when this page was checked.
Steam Deck verified 5 Oct 2026
Steam Deck Verified. The developers announced the status on 15 Sep 2026 ("We Are Steam Deck Verified!"), and the Steam store page showed the Verified badge with all four compatibility checks passed when checked on 5 Oct 2026. Earlier, the July 2026 technical update post mentioned 60 fps on most demo levels on Steam Deck.

Interface and subtitles (11) on Steam, checked 5 Oct 2026: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese. Full audio: English and Simplified Chinese. The July 2026 technical update added switching text language from the in-game menu.
Console language lists were not itemized on the Nintendo and PlayStation pages when checked; assume parity is unverified.

From the official Steam description: a massive puzzle adventure with more than 1,000 hand-crafted puzzles, four distinct worlds with their own mechanics, characters and stories, which later collide and intertwine. Playable characters include a queen, a thief, a warrior, a wizard, and a talking boat. Single-player, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, full controller support. The voice cast announced 1 Oct 2026 includes Emily O'Brien (The Queen), Liam O'Brien (The Warrior), Darin De Paul (The Wizard), Anjali Bhimani (The Bard), Erica Luttrell (the Sailor), Matthew Waterson (The Druid), and a special appearance by Jonathan Blow.
